How to make bending plywood?

bending plywood is generally 3-ply with a thickness of 3.58mm and 5-ply with a thickness of 20mm, and the two outer veneers of the latter should be longitudinally paved. The strength and bendability of bending plywood is actually related to the properties of the mid-layer board. The 0.8mm thick veneer is usually a special kind of cut veneer, which has very long fibers (which is very important for the gluing of the outer veneer), moderate hardness, and has a larger flexural strength. The outer veneer is a specially selected rotary-cut veneer, and this structure of the wood ensures the stability of the shape. The glue used for gluing was PVAC released without formaldehyde. During bending, the inner veneer is squeezed, the outer veneer is stretched, and sometimes cracks. When bending under a narrow radius, the veneer has to withstand extremely high mechanical tension, so the tree species and thickness of the middle veneer and the glue used should be properly selected. Existing common techniques of joinery should be considered when making various round objects. Sometimes it is possible to encounter non-double longitudinally paved boards, and the veneer form must be adjusted frequently, and the ready-made boards may not always be able to bend. Uniform tension, the great advantage of this special bending plywood is that the two layers are glued to each other, so the structure is stable, the fit is tight after molding, and it has long-term stability. Thereby, round doors suitable for round counters, drawer handles, and metal hardware can be easily installed. Due to the uniform tension, it is possible to install doors on huge curved surfaces, or to make prefabricated assemblies fit each other better without deformation. In order to prepare various bending parts as much as possible, the shapes of the produced bending plywood are mostly 1220×2500mm and 2500×2220mm. Sometimes the bending direction of the plywood is required to be consistent with the direction of the veneer. In this case, a three-layer bending plywood with a thickness of 1.5mm can be used, and the corresponding wound-cut veneer is used for the panel. In addition to the preparation of series or single pieces of furniture and for general interior finishing, bending plywood has been widely used in the shipbuilding industry for many years. The designer here is optimistic about its weight, which is only 350 kilograms per cubic meter. It also has a variety of applications, such as in museums, stage and film sets, etc, because it is particularly easy to disassemble. The use of flexible plywood is far more than these, and it remains to be further developed. At the same time, its application range depends to a large extent on the creativity of woodworking and the imagination of designers. The properties of this material are a challenge for manual operations in wood processing.
